I am a seasoned photographer based out of Portland for the last 6 years. Previous accomplishments and experience include freelance photography for major ad firms covering such events as Fashion Week in New York City's Bryant Park. I was also hired by Kelly Baker, local independent filmmaker and sound designer for Gus Van Sant to shoot production stills on his movie sets. While in college at University of Kansas, I apprenticed under nationally renown commercial photographer, Nick Vedros. I have been a featured photographer for Travel Monthly magazine, a renown industry magazine. Most recently in Portland, I was selected by Urban Art Works to display my fine art photos through them at First Thursday in the Pearl District. Once settled in Portland, I knew that the venue that fit me best was to photograph weddings. It gives me an opportunity to do what I love most--photograph raw emotion and unrehearsed expression. I am humbled and honored every time someone trusts me to document this most important day for them. I bring a non-studio approach, that is to say not a style where photos from every wedding look the same, but only the faces have changed. I believe it is my fundamental challenge and function to do absolutely whatever I can to fully and accurately document your once in a lifetime day. My approach is to be as non-intrusive as possible, letting your day unfold naturally without having the feeling or discomfort of knowing there's a camera in your face at all times. My years of experience have taught me to anticipate where to be at the right time to capture that rare, fleeting moment. Again, this is YOUR day, live it up!. Just be yourself, let me do my job and I ensure you elegant results. "I don't create emotions, I capture them."
